As Cold As Ice

Is today

the perfect day

to be feeling this way?

So full of pain.

You need to get away

or suffocate in shame.

And in the rain,

no one can see the tears fall from your face.

Please tell me it is a lie

when you glare into the sky

and mercilessly cry

you want to die.

As cold as ice,

you take this knife,

and attempt to end your life,

still searching for Christ.

So many times

have I cried

to think that I

was the one in your mind

on that night,

with this internal fight.

You glimpsed the light.

I pray you are alright.

How can it be?

Was this because of me?

What I said was not as it seemed.

I never wanted to be mean.

You are truly

important to me.

It is becoming hard to breathe.

How could this be?

I want you to know,

wherever I go

I will keep you close

and pray you can come home.

You will not be alone.

My love shows.

Like a rose,

my love grows.

I know you feel abused,

but no matter what you

have to go through,

I will be there for you.

My feelings for you

are more than just a few.

you do not need to hurt yourself.

and survive throughout the night.

I plead with you to end this fight.

I can help you make the wrong right.

I will not let you see the light.

God has saved you this time.

You will be fine

with Jesus as your guide.

I pray for you endlessly.

I pray for you in my sleep.

May you live long

and right your wrongs.

You have had a good heart

from the start.

Now it is time for your second chance.

Your spirit will enhance

when you feel His love

reining from above.

You will not have to pay the cost

for the time you have lost.

I will help you along the way.

With you forever I will stay.

I cannot express how afraid I am,
